Selection of Club Activities
The Rotary
Club of Dumfries has a proud tradition of charity fundraising and service
to the community both local and international. The following is a brief
selection of some of these activities and their target beneficiaries.
Annual
Charity Golf Am-am
Raises funds for local charities. In 16 years more than £60,000
has been distributed.
Kids
Out Days
Summer away day and Christmas panto for disadvantaged children throughout
the region

International
projects
Most successful to date has been £24,000 matching grant project
for the Jaipur Limb Project in Mumbai, India.
Wateraid
The Spend-a- Penny campaigns have so far provided nearly £3000 to
Wateraid.
Sports
Foundation
The Sports Foundation provides grants to local sportspeople of all ages
and many sports to help with special requirements such as travel, equipment
and training.

musician of the Year
 
Vocal Winners and Instrumental Winners from the 2008 Young

RYLA
Camps
RYLA camps provide training, and opportunities as potential leaders
(as well as being challenging and a lot of fun) for 5th and 6th year pupils.
Challenge
Enterprise
A countrywide competition fo rsenior school pupils, testing their
ability to create and promote innovative business plans.
Old
folks Christmas parcels
Working with Marks & Spencer as well as The Food Train, we
are able to distribute over £1,000 worth of Christmas parcels to
deserving folks.
